Flowers on the Coffin is a must… Right? This is your loved one so say goodbye your way.
Traditionally a casket spray is placed atop of the coffin during a funeral service to soften the visual impact. They are indeed beautiful and offer the opportunity to personalise with favourite colours and flowers.
But there are other options. Some modern day coffins available are so vibrant and colourful and highlight one’s passion or hobby. These options hold their own and often don’t require a floral tribute.
Alternatively a personal item of your loved one may be a more fitting tribute. A fishing rod of an avid angler or a helmet and jacket of a passionate biker can at times have more impact and truly personalises a goodbye.
Always remember, this is your loved one and no one knew them better. If that means stepping outside of expected traditions, honours them more fittingly, then do it. We only get one goodbye and it must be perfect.
